  • It won’t be wrong to call this the century of technological advancement. We’ve been transcending towards advancements with a juggernaut pace and the mobile sector is the one that advanced from Motorola’s first handheld phone in 1993 to today when Apple’s iPhone has convincingly lead the its mobile industry to glory with unmatchable brand value and quality benchmark that it keeps on crossing every year. But, the question is - “Is it worth upgrading an iPhone 6S to an iPhone 7?”

If you were also wondering what is to be done with your now old model Apple device then worry not because in this article we are going to tell you why or why not upgrading the device would be a good decision.

    Let’s go:

    1. The Touch ID: Yes, the touch identification that Apple when introduced with the iPhone 5S in 2013 changed the way people used to look on their devices. The iPhone 6S has a 2nd Generation touch identification where as the new iPhone 7 has a Solid State Touch ID. That gives it an edge over the iPhone 6S but is it good enough?
If you ask me then I think its not a good enough reason for me to upgrade my device as the iPhone 6S touch ID works just as fine and doesn’t have any issues reported by far. However, the Solid State touch ID is claimed to be more accurate, safe and secure.

    2. Front Camera: Indeed Apple is the brand that convinced people that Mega Pixel is just a number and has nothing to do with the camera quality. Despite, having 5 MP camera Apple could easily take down the companies with 13 MP or even more. There is a notable difference between the camera quality of all the iPhones. The iPhone 6S has a 5MP front camera where as the iPhone 7 has a 7MP. If you think that 2MP is not worth upgrading your device then think again because when Apple gives a 2MP difference, it definitely means something. Moreover, the iPhone 6S front cam can only make 720p videos where as the iPhone 7 can make 1080p videos with its front camera.

    3. Processor: When I buy a device, I make sure that it has an efficient processor after all who wants their device to hang or get struck when you are going to send that email that your boss had asked you urgently. Apple never disappoints though after the A9 processor in iPhone 6S we thought that’s saturation for Apple but in the iPhone 7 they’ve come up with A10 fusion that makes the experience just better. This change is significant and if you use an iPhone 6S and an iPhone 7 with the new software update you’ll realise that difference in the processors is evident. Apple has done a commendable job after all .I’d suggest if you look for faster processing phones then iPhone 7 is your upgrade.

    4. iOS: The Apple Operating System, originally on the iPhone 6S is iOS 9 whereas on the iPhone 7 is the iOS 10. But, it doesn’t make much of a difference because iPhone 6S iOS 9 can be easily upgraded to iOS 10 from the settings of your iPhone. In this category, I must mention that the iOS 10 works better on the iPhone 7 comparatively because it is its original iOS. But, suggesting an upgrade only for this isn’t fair.

    5. Price: I better check my bank balance before I go and buy a product worth half a lakh. That’s literally a larger chunk of my savings drawn away. So, is it really worth it to spend it all on the iPhone 7 if I have an iPhone 6S, that’s you’re call I’d rather go to Bahamas for a weekend. Though, there is difference of 10k in the pricing today of the products. On an online e-commerce website (Amazon) the cheapest model of iPhone 6S is priced Rs. 36,840/- where as the iPhone 7 is Rs. 46,239/-.

We hope that this intel might have helped you in making that final call of iPhone upgradation that you were looking for. Do write us in the comments below about what you think about the differences in iPhone 6S and iPhone 7. And, is Apple really bringing its game on the table every year or not. Tell us what you think.
